Me Sophie Mireault

Lawyer

Sophie Mireault holds a law degree from the University of Montréal and is a member of the Quebec Bar since 1989.

As a lawyer, she is registered on the list of labour relations arbitrators at the Department of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada.  She also works as a collaborator with Derome Avocats in the field of labour law and civil law. Privileging alternative methods of settling disputes, Ms. Mireault adapts to the needs of her clients in resolving disputes.

After holding various jobs in government agencies (Commission de la construction du Québec et Commission des normes du travail, today the CNESST), she acted as an administrative judge, first at the Commissaire de l’industrie de la contruction, then at the Commission des relations du travail, today the Tribunal administratif du travail.

An experienced mediator, Ms. Mireault implemented mediation   processes adapted to the specifications of the various recourses and statutes at the Commissaire de l’industrie de la construction. She has also given several courses in this field. She is accredited by the Quebec Bar in civil, commercial and labor matters and as a family mediator.

 

Ms. Mireault is a part-time lecturer at the Département d’organisation et ressources humaines (ORH) at l’École des sciences de la gestion (ESG - UQAM).
