Jean H. Gagnon has over 43 years of experience as a lawyer, negotiator, mediator and arbitrator.

 

Mr. Gagnon has authored 19 books and countless papers and articles, amongst other topics on negotiation, mediation and non-judicial dispute resolution.

 

He has received the “Advocatus Emeritus (Ad.E.) distinction from the Quebec Bar Association(“Barreau du Québec”) and the “Fellow Chartered Administrator (“F.C.Adm.”) distinction from the Quebec Order of Chartered Administrator (“Ordre des administrateurs agréés du Québec”).

 

He is one of the only three Quebec mediators named on the “CPR’s Panels of Distinguished Neutral” of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution. He is recognized as a Certified Mediator and a Certified Arbitrator by the Arbitration and Mediation Institute of Quebec (“IMAQ”) and by the ADR Institute of Canada, and as a Civil and Commercial Mediator by the Quebec Bar Association.

 

He pursued postgraduate studies in negotiation, mediation and dispute resolution (including three intensive sessions at Harvard University in 1987, 1991 and 2005 from some great teachers, including Roger Fisher, William Ury and Bruce Patton (the authors of “Getting to Yes”) and Frank Sanders (a pioneer in civil and commercial mediation).
