Marie-Claude Rigaud is a Professor at the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Law, where she also acts as Associate Dean, External Affairs and Communications. Her research and teaching focus mainly on arbitration and other modes of dispute resolution, as well as professional regulation and lawyers’ ethics. She is editor in chief  of la Revue d’arbitrage et de mediation/Journal of Arbitration and Mediation qnd a member of RéForMA. She has lectured at the Faculty of Law of Université de Sherbrooke, where she is an Associate Professor; the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto; the Faculty of Law of the University of Nevada (UNLV); the Faculty of Law of Sassari (Italy) and the Faculty of Law at Paris XII.

Professor Rigaud is a graduate of McGill University’s Faculty of Law, where in 1992 she earned her B.C.L. and LL.B., and of the Faculty of Law of Université Paris XII, where she obtained her Doctoral Degree (with the highest honours). Before turning to the academic world, she practiced law during numerous years in Toronto, Zurich and Montreal. She was a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada (Ontario) between 1995 and 2016 and is a member of the Barreau du Québec since 2003.
